Cleaning A Car: Forgotten Areas

When you think about cleaning your car, the first thing that usually pops out in your head is that the exterior of your car is covered in dust or mud, and you’ll have to make it shiny again. However, what you probably don’t think of is that there are many places that we tend to ignore when cleaning our cars.

While your car may still look good from the outside, ignoring these places will cause your passengers to feel disgusted about how your car looks and smells from the inside. Here we’ll discuss 5 of these forgotten places when cleaning a car.

SEAT SEAMS
People do a lot of activities in their car, like eating, drinking, putting on make-up, and even smoking. You may think that you’re sure you didn’t leave any crumbs or powder behind on top of the seats, but it’s possible that some of them have snuck into the seat seams and got stuck there. Make sure to clean the cushion seams by vacuuming the large pieces and brushing it to get rid of the smaller ones.

CARPETING
Your shoes can bring a lot of dirt into the carpet of your car, especially if it was raining outside, and you had to run through the mud to get to your car. Remember that you should always use a cleaner on the carpets regularly to remove all the dirt and smell.

TRUNK
People fill their car trunks with various things starting from their groceries to dirty boots and tools. Having dirt in a small enclosed space is never a good thing because it can get smelly and dirty. Make sure to scrub the carpet of your trunk from time to time, and don’t forget to clean the area around your spare tire lid if it is located in the trunk.

CUP HOLDERS
Have you ever been enjoying a soft drink and accidentally spilled a little on the cup holder? If you did, make sure to check those cup holders and clean it as soon as possible before it gets sticky and smelly.

HEADLINER
The headliner, or the roof of the car, can get dirty because of smoke or because you accidentally touched the area when stretching before. It’s really difficult to clean the headliner because if you do it wrong, you may ruin its color. Make sure to use a gentle cleaner before attempting to clean this area.
